Yokohama Harbor
Clinton Khile-Brägger | Spring 2026
“I typically point my lens at human subjects, but as I was roaming along Yokohama Harbor with my wife, it occurred to me just how industrialized our surroundings were. There was frankly no trace left of the nature that once inhabited this space. I realized no human subject was needed in this image to depict the undeniable presence of human influence on the space around us. Although I do find Yokohama to be a beautiful city, I couldn’t help be to be reminded of Isao Takahata’s film Pom Poko and the irreversible nature of industrialism.”
