Why is this piece your Trace Fossil?

Read at 8:15am was actually the piece that inspired my inquiry for my senior thesis. During that time I was coping from a fall out with a friend. I’ve known them since middle school but as time passed we just didn’t click anymore and they unfortunately ghosted me. It is hard to lose/let go of someone that you used to be close with and that is what brought me to create this piece. I’ve learned that things like this come with life and rather than dwell on the things that brought it to this end, I want to remember the good memories we shared instead. This piece reflects how I process change and loss – through reflection rather than resentment. It marks a moment of growth for me, where I began to understand that not all relationships are meant to last forever, but they can still shape you in meaningful ways.”
