Merrik Moriarty

Head Editor

A young woman with curly brown hair sitting on a green velvet couch in front of large white-framed windows with a view of green trees outside. She is wearing a light blue dress and accessorized with bracelets and a watch, looking to her left with a relaxed expression.

Merrik Moriarty was born in Boston, but she’s called a lot of places home. She is a 2025 YoungArts winner with distinction, a National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Medalist, and an Adroit Prize semifinalist. Her work can be found in the Interlochen Review and Writing South Carolina, and in Clementine & Beau, her debut collection of interconnected short fiction. Currently, she’s a freshman at the University of South Carolina, studying psychology and computer science. If in need of a rant, ask her about Wes Anderson.
